I've been meaning to look up Miyako Odori on YouTube for ages, so I guess one plus to LiveJournal going down was the fact that I stopped procrastinating. I was a little afraid I wouldn't enjoy it, which would stink, since I make such a fuss about liking Japan for more than idol culture, right? Well, I ended up getting distracted by a series of Kyo Odori performances, and they are amazing.

The music, and the subtlety of the choreography, and Toshihana! It's just stunning, all of it, so evocative and delicate. I'll have to wait to watch the rest later, but, oh, this was such a wonderful way to start my day.
